KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-August 1st, 2026) Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Saturday forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Karachi.
The cloudy weather is likely to persist across Karachi during the next 24 hours.
The PMD said Karachi is likely to experience partly to mostly cloudy conditions while rain and thunderstorms may occur during the afternoon or evening.
The residents have been advised to remain cautious, particularly during periods of heavy rain and strong winds.
The PMD said the city’s minimum temperature was recorded at 29.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 36 degrees Celsius during the day.
Humidity levels in Karachi were recorded at 82 percent, contributing to the city’s hot and humid conditions. Meanwhile, sea breezes were blowing at a speed of around 8 kilometres per hour.
The latest forecast comes as seasonal monsoon activity continues to influence weather conditions in different parts of the country.
Karachi, being a coastal city, can experience sudden changes in weather when moist air from the Arabian Sea combines with developing cloud systems.
The possibility of thunderstorms and rain may provide temporary relief from the prevailing heat and humidity, although heavy downpours could potentially affect routine activities and traffic movement in some areas.
