ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Aug, 2026) Minister of State for Law and Justice Aqeel Malik on Saturday said that political parties must work together to address the country’s challenges, stressing that reforms and improvements were needed with the passage of time.
Talking to a private news channel, he said issues could not be resolved unless political parties sat together and evolved a consensus. He said the federation formulates reforms and national policies, but effective implementation requires cooperation from all provinces.
Malik emphasized that the country should move beyond ethnic and provincial divisions and work collectively as Pakistanis.
He said national progress depended on unity and coordinated efforts among all federating units.
Responding to a question, he said one province was performing better than others and improvements were visible. However, he disagreed with the notion that the system had failed. Governance issues do exist, but the system itself has not failed, he added.
Commenting on Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s remarks regarding a governance gap, Malik said he agreed with that assessment, adding that governance-related shortcomings needed to be addressed through reforms and better coordination.
