KOHAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Aug, 2026) Kohat Police on Saturday organized tribute rallies across the district to honor police martyrs while senior officers and religious leaders reviewed comprehensive security arrangements for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace during the religious observance.
The rallies were held on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal and were led by DSP Sadar Haider Zaman, SHO Sadar Abdul Rauf Bangash and SHO Mills Ayatullah Khan in their respective jurisdictions. Police personnel, officers and local residents participated in the events, paying tribute to police officials who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Special prayers were offered for the martyrs and for peace, stability and security in the country.
Separately, a high-level meeting chaired by Acting Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shaukat Abbas at the Police Club Kohat reviewed security arrangements for the Chehlum processions and mourning gatherings.
The meeting was attended by DPO SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, SP City Khalid Mahmood and prominent Shia and Sunni religious scholars and community elders, who assured the administration of their full cooperation in maintaining law and order.
Addressing the meeting, Acting DIG Shaukat Abbas said all available resources would be utilized to ensure foolproof security for processions and Majalis and to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal briefed participants on the comprehensive security plan and reiterated the police department’s resolve to ensure the peaceful conduct of Chehlum observances across the district.
