KHANEWAL, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st Jul, 2026) Khanewal police arrested a landlord and his accomplice on charge of attacking a calf and killing a cow with repeated blows of club in Sarai Sadhu police area.
District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid took immediate notice of the brutal incident and had ordered swift police action.
The incident occurred at Mauza 12 Kasi near Bagar Sargana. Acting swiftly after receiving a call through the police helpline 15, Sarai Sidhu police reached the scene, secured evidence, recorded statements of eyewitnesses and launched a comprehensive investigation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a landlord, along with an accomplice, allegedly displayed extreme cruelty by first breaking the leg of a calf and later repeatedly attacking a cow with sticks, resulting in its death.
Using professional investigative techniques and modern policing methods, the police arrested the suspects.
A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 606/26 at Sarai Sidhu police station under Sections 429, 506, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The DPO said that cruelty towards animals is not only morally reprehensible but also a punishable offence under the law, adding that all those involved would be brought to justice.
He reaffirmed that Khanewal police would continue taking all possible legal measures to ensure the protection of both citizens and animals, police spokesman said.
