Justice Sardar Akbar Dogar heard Noreen Niazi’s petition and directed authorities not to arrest her during the period of protective bail
LAHORE: (UrduPoint /UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 30th, 2026) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday granted one-week protective bail to Noreen Niazi, the sister of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in a case registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
Justice Sardar Akbar Dogar heard Noreen Niazi’s petition and directed authorities not to arrest her during the period of protective bail.
The court also ordered the petitioner to appear before the relevant trial court within one week to seek regular pre-arrest bail.
The petitioner said that the NCCIA had registered a case against Noreen Niazi under the PECA law.
It stated that she intended to approach the relevant court for interim bail but feared she would be arrested before being able to do so.
The petitioner requested the Lahore High Court to grant protective bail to enable her to appear before the competent court without the risk of arrest, a request that the court accepted.
