ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Jul, 2026) The district administration detained 9 people during an operation against violations of dengue prevention SOPs and activities that led to mosquito larvae breeding.
The action was carried out by Assistant Commissioner Saddar Yasir Nazir as part of the ongoing campaign to control dengue and reduce breeding sites across the area.
According to the district administration, the operation targeted individuals and places that failed to follow the dengue prevention SOPs. Officials said these violations created conditions for mosquito larvae to grow, increasing the risk of dengue transmission.
During the inspection, teams identified several locations where preventive measures had not been implemented. As a result, nine people were taken into custody and shifted to the local lock-up for legal action.
The district administration said such operations will continue across different areas to ensure compliance with the dengue prevention guidelines. Officials added that inspections are being carried out regularly to identify potential breeding sites and remove public health risks.
Residents have been urged to support the anti-dengue campaign by following all SOPs issued by the district administration. Citizens have also been asked to keep their homes, workplaces, and surrounding areas free from stagnant water and other conditions that allow mosquito larvae to develop.
The administration said public cooperation is essential for controlling dengue and preventing the spread of the disease. It urged everyone to follow the prescribed safety measures to help protect the community and reduce the risk of dengue cases.
