HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Jun, 2026) Regional Blood Centre (RBC), Shaheed Benazirabad, observed World Blood Donor Day to mark the occasion, at Donor Hall, Regional Blood Centre, Nawabshah.
Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shahmir Khan Bhutto attended the event as Chief Guest.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation, timely availability of safe blood, and the need to promote a culture of blood donation in society.
Addressing the participants, Commissioner Shahmir Khan Bhutto, RBC In-charge Dr. Khadim Hussain, and other speakers said that a single blood donation can save several precious lives. They urged healthy individuals to donate blood regularly so that patients suffering from thalassemia, accident victims, and those requiring emergency transfusions can receive blood without delay.
Speakers appreciated the services of Regional Blood Centre, Fatimid Foundation, voluntary blood donors, and all organizations contributing to this humanitarian cause.
They described blood donation as one of the finest examples of selfless service to humanity and encouraged young people and social organizations to actively participate in voluntary blood donation campaigns to ensure that no patient suffers due to a shortage of blood.
At the conclusion of ceremony, the Chief Guest was presented with a commemorative shield, while appreciation certificates were distributed among voluntary blood donors and supporting organizations in recognition of their valuable contributions.
Among those present at the ceremony were District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain, Medical Superintendent Dr. Yar Ali Jamali, Pro Vice Chancellor of PHUMS Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleh Khaskheli, Dr. Sadiq Siyal, Ghulam Nabi Channa, and other officials.
Later, Commissioner visited and inspected various sections of the Regional Blood Centre.
