ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Jun, 2026) Member National Assembly and the Convenor, Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR), Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, expressed profound grief and deep sorrow over the tragic death of 9-year-old Hania Ahmed, an Australian child of Pakistani origin, who lost her life in a deeply unfortunate incident in Chakwal.
“I strongly condemn this heartbreaking loss of an innocent child’s life under any circumstances,” she said in a message issued by his office on Tuesday.
The death of a child is always an unbearable tragedy, and incidents involving children demand the highest level of sensitivity, responsibility, and accountability.
Every child has the fundamental right to life, safety, and protection, and it is the collective duty of state institutions to ensure that children remain protected from violence and harm.
As Convenor of the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights, she said “I emphasize that the protection and safety of children must remain a paramount priority in all circumstances, including law enforcement operations. This tragic incident raises serious concerns and underscores the urgent need for strict adherence to protocols, improved operational oversight, and child-sensitive approaches during security interventions,”.
She extended heartfelt condolences to Hania Ahmed’s family during this immensely painful time and pray for the speedy recovery of her injured father and brother.
