ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Jun, 2026) Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Anjam Aqeel Khan said on Monday that Pakistan’s diplomatic position in the world has improved significantly, with stronger ties developing with major global powers.
Speaking in the National Assembly, he said Pakistan, which was once considered diplomatically isolated, is now being mentioned more frequently at high-level forums, including by the leadership of the United States alongside Pakistan’s prime minister and foreign officials.
He praised the prime minister and the Foreign Office for improved diplomatic engagement and credited the political leadership for renewed international recognition of Pakistan.
Referring to security challenges, he said Pakistan continues to face attempts of proxy warfare aimed at destabilisation. However, he said the armed forces and security institutions have successfully countered these threats, and the country remains proud of their sacrifices.
He added that Pakistanis are proud of the country’s defence institutions and their sacrifices in protecting national sovereignty.
He also compared Pakistan’s defence and resilience with several resource-rich countries, saying that despite wealth and oil reserves, some nations face security challenges due to weak defence structures.
On the Federal budget, he said it was prepared under difficult regional and security circumstances. While acknowledging limited public relief, he said priority had been given to national security and economic stability.
He added that the government’s long-term goal is a stronger and more stable economy, requiring continued patience and political stability. He expressed hope that future budgets would bring greater relief, especially for youth, workers, industrialists, and vulnerable groups.
He also thanked the finance minister and the economic team for their efforts, saying the budget provides a foundation for strengthening the economy and institutions in the coming years.
