ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Jun, 2026) Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday said Pakistan had earned international recognition for its constructive and responsible role in promoting peace, describing the development as a matter of pride for the country and its people.
Speaking in the National Assembly, he said the entire nation should thank Almighty Allah for the honour bestowed upon Pakistan in facilitating efforts that helped ease regional tensions and promote peace.
“I congratulate the people of Pakistan on this honour. This is not the achievement of any individual; it is an honour for the entire nation,” he said.
The Speaker paid tribute to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, saying that the progress achieved would not have been possible without his timely efforts and leadership.
He also appreciated the contributions of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, National Security Adviser Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik, and the entire team of the Foreign Office under the leadership of Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.
He further acknowledged the support and positive role played by friendly countries throughout the process.
Welcoming Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, who was present in the diplomats’ gallery of the National Assembly, the Speaker described him as a respected and well-known figure with close ties to Pakistan.
He said the Iranian envoy’s efforts in the matter were highly commendable and deserved appreciation.
Expressing hope for lasting peace, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq prayed that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role in promoting regional stability and successfully carry the process forward to its logical conclusion.
