
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project (KPHCIP), in collaboration with the Health Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, observed World Environment Day 2026 in Peshawar
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Jun, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project (KPHCIP), in collaboration with the Health Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, observed World Environment Day 2026 in Peshawar.
The event highlighted the growing impact of climate change on public health and reaffirmed the collective commitment to building climate-resilient healthcare systems across the province.
Addressing the event, Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahid Ullah Khan, appreciated the efforts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project in supporting the Government’s vision of a stronger, more resilient, and sustainable healthcare system.
He emphasized that climate change has emerged as one of the most significant public health challenges of our time, requiring proactive planning and coordinated action.
The Secretary Health stated that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains committed to strengthening healthcare services, improving health infrastructure, and enhancing the capacity of health facilities to effectively respond to climate-related emergencies and environmental health challenges.
Shahid Ullah Khan acknowledged the valuable contribution of KPHCIP in upgrading Primary healthcare facilities, modernizing health infrastructure, and improving preparedness and resilience across the province.
He noted that such initiatives are playing a crucial role in ensuring better healthcare outcomes and safeguarding communities against the adverse effects of climate change.
He further stressed the importance of collaboration among government institutions, development partners, and stakeholders to build a healthcare system capable of addressing emerging environmental and public health threats.
He reaffirmed the Health Department’s commitment to promoting sustainable and climate-resilient healthcare services for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
