LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 15th, 2026) Due to the continuous and effective efforts and strong demands of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the Government of Punjab has taken an important business-friendly decision to ease lockdown restrictions and grant exemptions to markets, shopping malls, restaurants, and food outlets.
The decision is being widely welcomed by the business community as a major relief and a positive step towards economic recovery. It is expected to ensure continuity of commercial activities, protect jobs, and contribute to overall economic stability.
The President of LCCI consistently raised this issue at every forum. He held multiple meetings with senior government officials and remained in continuous contact with relevant authorities, strongly presenting the concerns and ground realities of the business community. His efforts focused on finding practical solutions that balance energy conservation and administrative needs without harming economic activity.
This decision is being seen as a result of continuous dialogue and constructive engagement, where LCCI highlighted the real challenges of businesses and proposed workable solutions.
