RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th May, 2026) The district administration of Rawalpindi has imposed Section 144 for a period of 15 days, according to an official notification issued on Monday.
Under the notification, Adiala Jail and its surrounding areas have been declared a red zone, while strict restrictions will remain in place around sensitive installations.
The administration stated that Section 144 will come into effect from midnight tonight, banning all kinds of public gatherings, rallies, sit-ins, protest demonstrations, and processions.
Authorities said the measures have been taken to maintain law and order and to prevent any untoward incident.
Law enforcement agencies have been placed on high alert, while surveillance at key entry and exit points across the city has been further tightened.
