Ahsan Iqbal Urges Youth To Dedicate Skills For National Development

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Monday urged the youth to dedicate their education, skills and energies to national development, saying Pakistan had the potential to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2035 if the younger generation worked with commitment, vision and patriotism.

Addressing the 26th Degree Awarding Ceremony of IQRA University Islamabad, the minister encouraged graduates to pursue their dreams with determination and play an active role in the country’s economic and social progress.

He paid tribute to the armed forces and said the nation had once again demonstrated its strength and resolve under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir during the “Marka-e-Haq” on May 10, 2025.

Highlighting the sacrifices rendered for the country, the minister paid tribute to the brave soldiers of Pakistan’s armed forces who embraced martyrdom while defending the motherland.

He also commended the courage, commitment and resilience of the martyrs’ families, saying their spirit and patriotism strengthened the nation.

Ahsan Iqbal urged the youth to place national interest above personal gains and work collectively for the country’s progress.

He told the graduates that every young Pakistani had the potential to achieve success and realize his or her dreams through dedication and perseverance.

The minister said Pakistan was passing through a defining period in its history and stressed the need for national unity, discipline and economic advancement. He urged students to dedicate their abilities and professional skills towards the country’s development.

“If we dedicate our capabilities, education and professional skills to Pakistan’s development, there is no reason why the country cannot emerge as a trillion-dollar economy by 2035,” he added.

The minister also advised graduates to adopt a long-term vision for the country and prepare themselves for leadership roles in the future. Referring to the year 2047, when Pakistan will complete 100 years of independence, he said today’s youth would shape the future of the country and carry forward the responsibility of national development.

He urged students to remain optimistic, work hard and contribute towards building a strong, progressive and globally respected Pakistan.
