SAHIWAL, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th May, 2026) Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail has said that eradication of corruption and malpractices from institutions is among the top priorities of the Punjab government, with strict action being taken against elements involved.
He emphasized that there are clear government instructions to adopt a zero tolerance policy against corruption. He was presiding over a meeting of the Divisional Coordination Committee held at his office.
The meeting was attended by RPO Muhammad Ayaz Saleem, DC Sahiwal Samiullah Farooq, DPO Muhammad Usman Tipu, Director Development and Finance Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, ADC Dr. Saifullah Bhatti, ADCG Niaz Ahmed Mughal, others participated via video link and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
During the meeting, the DCs and DPOs of the three districts gave a detailed briefing on public welfare initiatives.
The agenda included the National Action Plan, inter-departmental coordination, action against illegal housing societies, registration of madrassas, performance of paraforce, MEPCO, and LESCO, crackdowns on non-taxed cigarette sales, law and order, and beautification projects.
Dr. Asif Tufail said the Punjab government is also focused on ongoing development works across the province, with close monitoring of the quality of all projects.
He noted that green property certificates have been issued for property transactions in Sahiwal to eliminate corruption and fraud.
He added that the administration is actively involving youth in sports activities and that this trend will continue in the future to promote positive engagement across the division.
