Peshawar Zalmi easily chased 130-run target set by Kingsmen in final clash of HBL PSL 11 at Gaddafi Stadium
Peshawar Zalmi became
PSL Champions for the second time, and it is for the first for
Babar Azam as a captain to lift the trophy in the history of mega tournament.
The match was played at Gaddafi Stadium in
Lahore.
Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 129 runs in 18 overs against
Peshawar Zalmi after their batting line-up collapsed under pressure.
Later,
Peshawar Zalmi, after winning the toss, opted to field first and made early inroads, restricting
Hyderabad Kingsmen throughout the innings.
Saim Ayub top-scored for
Hyderabad Kingsmen with 54 runs, marking a half-century in the final.
Captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 20 runs, while Muaz Sadaqat made 11. Hassan Khan contributed 12 runs, whereas Irfan Niazi and Kusal Perera managed just one run each. Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for a duck, and Hunain Shah scored 9 runs.
For
Peshawar Zalmi, Aaron Hardy was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets for 27 runs, while Naheed Rana claimed 2 wickets for 22 runs.
The Gaddafi Stadium was packed as a colourful closing ceremony was held before the match, featuring performances by
Atif Aslam,
Ali Azmat,
Arif Lohar, Aima Baig, and the Sabri Sisters.
