GUJRAT: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 27th, 2026) In a landmark move to bridge academia with real‑world opportunities, the University of Gujrat’s 55th Syndicate meeting approved the establishment of an Industry Liaison Office in collaboration with the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GtCCI), alongside a police service centre on campus.
These initiatives, housed within the Business Incubation Centre (BIC), aim to equip students with practical exposure to business, trade and start‑ups, while also providing direct access to essential civic services.
The meeting, held at Hafiz Hayat Campus on Saturday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor‑ul‑Haq, Tamgha‑e‑Imtiaz, underscored the university’s commitment to preparing students as successful citizens and contributors to national development. The Syndicate also reviewed and approved the University’s Annual Report for 2024–25, endorsed the proceedings of the 54th meeting, and ratified recommendations of the recently held 69th Selection board, which addresses faculty shortages across departments.

Additionally, MPA Tashfeen Safdar, Sohail Amjad (representative of Secretary Finance Department Lahore), Director Law Department Shahid Imtiaz (representative of Secretary Law & Parliamentary Affairs Lahore), Rector Chenab University Engineer Muhammad Raza Chauhan (representative of Chairman HEC Islamabad), Chairperson PHEC Lahore Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas, Prof. Dr. Rehan Sadiq Sheikh (Director CAMB Punjab University) and Chairman BISE Gujranwala Muhammad Ali joined online.
The meeting was supported by Registrar Muhammad Naeem Butt, who served as Secretary to the Syndicate.
