RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Apr, 2026) The Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab organized a farmer-livestock meeting and Farmers’ Day in Dina, to raise awareness about animal health, breeding and modern farming practices, officials said.
The event was held under the supervision of Dr Muhammad Asim Raza in line with directions of provincial and district authorities.
Officials provided doorstep guidance to livestock keepers on animal care, nutrition and disease prevention, urging them to ensure timely vaccination and use of deworming medicines to protect animals from internal and external parasites.
Farmers were advised to seek treatment from qualified veterinary doctors at government hospitals and dispensaries in case of illness, instead of relying on unverified remedies.
The department also highlighted the importance of using quality breeds and vaccines to enhance milk and meat production, along with adopting silage and high-quality fodder for better animal nutrition.
Participants were briefed about various government schemes aimed at supporting livestock farmers and improving productivity.
During the visit, Dr Muhammad Asim Raza inspected animals in nearby households to check for contagious diseases and ensure public health safety.
Livestock keepers were also encouraged to report animal diseases through the Android-based ADRS application, enabling timely diagnosis and effective treatment through relevant laboratories.
