QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Apr, 2026) Governor Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Monday inaugurated the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory (HVEL) and Facilities Strengthening Center at BUITEMS University, marking a significant milestone in the province’s higher education sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Mandokhail said that the provincial government has successfully steered the higher education sector out of crisis and toward recovery. Through vision and teamwork, meaningful reforms have been introduced across all public sector universities.
He highlighted that the budget for universities has been increased from Rs. 2.5 billion to Rs. 8 billion, enabling institutional development and renewal across campuses.
“These wise decisions have elevated the ranking and scoring of all universities in the province, laying the foundation for quality education,” Mandokhail stated.
He emphasized that strengthening infrastructure and ensuring timely salaries have created an academic environment where faculty members can fully dedicate themselves to enlightening students with modern knowledge.
The Governor noted that initiatives such as solar system installations in universities and bringing additional land under cultivation have further reinforced the sector’s infrastructure. “Higher education in Balochistan is now emerging with new energy and purpose, moving steadily toward a brighter and more promising future,” he added.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by BUITEMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Mervais Kasi, Principal Secretary to the Governor Abdul Nasir Dotani, and Director P&D BUITEMS Dr. Saeedullah Jan Mandokhail, along with heads of relevant departments.
Governor Mandokhail was also briefed on the details of both projects.
