LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Apr, 2026) The Punjab government has made the registration of pet dogs mandatory in urban and rural areas, for which a regular registration form has also been issued.
According to officials, people keeping dogs in homes, camps and streets will have to provide a complete record of their pets. The name of the owner, breed of the dog and other necessary information must be entered in the form.
Official Sources say that vaccination of pet dogs has also been made mandatory, for which citizens will have to approach the relevant livestock institutions.
The government has banned dogs from being allowed loose in public places, and owners have been instructed to keep their pets on a leash.
Authorities have made it clear that legal action will be taken against those who violate these orders. The measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens, especially children.
