LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th Apr, 2026) Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Information Technology Senator Anusha Rahman visited the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI), here on Sunday.
The senator met women entrepreneurs and discussed their economic activities and business challenges. The delegation was received by WCCI President Falahat Imran and other office-bearers, while DG TDAP Rafiah Syed was also present on the occasion.
During the interaction, Senator Anusha Rahman lauded the talent and resilience of Pakistani women, saying they had proved their capabilities in every field. She stated that the promotion of information technology and women empowerment remained among the top priorities of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She encouraged women entrepreneurs to use digital platforms and e-commerce for marketing their products, adding that the establishment of an e-commerce gateway was the need of the hour to expand their market access.
She further assured that the government would facilitate women entrepreneurs by supporting their participation in national and international industrial exhibitions and providing maximum opportunities for business growth.
The senior advisor also announced that the government would soon launch a Digital Skills Training Programme under which 6 million children would be provided free modern training over the next four years, with 1.5 million children to be trained annually. She said the initiative would equip youth with modern skills, enabling them to secure employment and become financially independent.
She added that several other revolutionary IT initiatives were being introduced on the direction of the Chief Minister, which would be formally announced soon. Earlier, women entrepreneurs shared suggestions regarding the promotion of economic activities, while WCCI President Falahat Imran briefed the meeting about the chamber’s ongoing initiatives and business facilitation efforts.
