Dera Ismail Khan, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Apr, 2026) Acting on the directives of Superintending Engineer Dera Circle, Engineer Hizbullah Khan Mehsud, the City Division on Saturday has launched a comprehensive campaign against power theft.
The operation is being carried out under the supervision of Executive Engineer Imran Khan Gandapur, along with Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) City-II Sub Division, Muhammad Ali. As part of the campaign, a grand operation was conducted in Mohalla Laghari Wala and near Madrassa Alauddin under the supervision of feeder in-charge Mudassir Ahmed.
During the crackdown, authorities took action against individuals involved in illegal electricity connections through direct hooks.
Several unauthorized connections were identified and removed on the spot.
Officials also uncovered various methods of electricity theft being used in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, SDO Muhammad Ali made it clear that power theft would not be tolerated under any circumstances and strict legal action would be taken against those involved.
He added that the identification process of the culprits is ongoing, and after verification, cases would be registered against them, with formal requests to be sent to the relevant police stations.
The official further stated that such operations would continue in the future to ensure effective prevention of electricity theft in the region.
