LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 25th, 2026) Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital (LGH), Professor Dr. Faryad Hussain, has nominated Dr. Anam Batool as the Focal Person for Pakistan’s inaugural Pediatric Stroke Center at LGH. Dr. Batool, who possesses specialized clinical training in stroke management, will oversee patient guidance, the referral system and inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely and effective treatment protocols.
In this regard, Dr. Anam Batool said that in line with the CM Punjab’s vision, the center is equipped with advanced medical technology, trained staff and international standard facilities, providing diagnosis, emergency treatment, continuous monitoring, and rehabilitation for pediatric stroke patients under one roof.
Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain highlighted that the initial “Golden Hours” are decisive in pediatric stroke cases, therefore, the center remains on high alert 24/7 to provide an immediate emergency response. He added that timely intervention significantly reduces the risk of complications and permanent disability, making this facility a vital milestone and a beacon of hope for children across the country.
