ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Jun, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted a detailed visit to the Federal Constabulary Training Centre in Shabqadar, on Saturday where he reviewed operational preparedness, professional training standards, and ongoing efforts to transform the force into a modern security organization capable of addressing emerging challenges.
During the visit, the minister inspected training activities of the Special Protection Wing and the Anti-Riot Wing, established under the Ministry of Interior to provide security for foreign state guests and respond to public order situations. He praised the quality of training being imparted to personnel and emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the force’s capabilities in line with international standards.
Naqvi said the Special Protection Wing was being developed into a modern and well-organized force modeled on those of advanced countries. He noted that the unit would be responsible for providing foreign dignitaries and international guests with security services meeting global standards.
“The training of the Special Protection Wing is being given special attention,” the minister said, adding that arrangements had been made for personnel to receive instruction from foreign trainers and that selected officers and officials would also be sent abroad for advanced training.
Highlighting the importance of professional development, Naqvi directed officials to place special emphasis on physical fitness, modern weapons handling, and advanced driving skills.
He also stressed the need to improve the educational qualifications of personnel and equip them with international language skills to meet the demands of contemporary security assignments.
The interior minister further ordered the procurement of modern anti-riot equipment, underscoring the Federal Constabulary’s critical role in maintaining law and order and supporting the country’s fight against terrorism.
“Given the evolving security environment, the Federal Constabulary is being transformed into a dynamic and effective force capable of responding to future security challenges,” he said.
As part of his visit, Naqvi toured the residential barracks and interacted with trainees, inquiring about food quality, living conditions, and other facilities. Taking notice of infrastructure needs, he issued on-the-spot directives to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in the barracks and ordered the provision of essential amenities. He also instructed authorities to begin construction of a gymnasium and swimming pool at the training center.
Earlier, Nazir Ahmad Gada, Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary, briefed the minister on the training programme and ongoing reforms. According to the briefing, trainees currently represent all provinces of Pakistan, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Officials informed the minister that the current training programme includes 35 female recruits for the first time, marking a significant step toward greater inclusion within the force.
Senior officials, including the Deputy Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary, the Deputy Commissioner of Charsadda, the District Police Officer of Charsadda, and other relevant officers, were also present during the visit.
