MUZAFFARGARH, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th May, 2026) A woman and her three-year-old child were rescued during a joint operation conducted by the Women
Protection Authority and police in the Amin Abad locality of Muzaffargarh, officials said on Tuesday.
According to Women Protection Officer Hina Gondal, the woman, who was reportedly suffering from mental health issues, had been confined inside a house along with her child for some time.
She said that during the period of confinement, the woman was allegedly subjected to physical torture by her husband and in-laws, who also forcibly cut her hair.
The operation was launched after local residents informed the Punjab Women Protection Authority about the alleged illegal confinement and mistreatment of the woman and her child.
Officials said the rescued woman and child were shifted to a safe location, while further legal action and investigation were underway.
