QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th May, 2026) Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Nawabzada Zareen Khan Magsi, has said that the formulation of Balochistan Tourism Policy will serve as a milestone in boosting the province’s economic development, attracting investment, and creating new employment opportunities.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of a two-day conference on the policy’s formation, Zareen Magsi emphasized that the comprehensive and effective policy is being designed in light of public experiences, ground realities, and modern requirements. He assured that the journey to promote tourism in Balochistan will continue with full determination, noting that the sector’s growth will open avenues of business and livelihood for thousands of young people.
He highlighted that local communities will be given central importance in tourism development, with priority in resource distribution. He added that effective strategies are underway to place Balochistan prominently on the global tourism map.
Drawing comparisons, Magsi pointed out that despite challenges, countries like Colombia and several South American nations have thriving tourism industries, and Balochistan too has immense potential to follow a similar path.
He stressed that promoting tourism will also allow Balochistan to send a positive message of peace, tolerance, and harmony to the world, while preserving its culture, traditions, and local identity.
On the occasion, Secretary Tourism Hameedullah Nasar said that international-standard tourism aligned with local culture will be introduced in Balochistan. He noted that the provincial government is focusing on infrastructure development and provision of modern facilities, while preparing a sustainable and eco-friendly tourism policy. This policy will showcase Balochistan’s coastal areas, historical sites, and cultural heritage at the global level.
The two-day conference was attended by experts, tour operators, investors, and stakeholders from diverse fields. At the closing ceremony, distinguished guests and participants were presented with honorary shields in recognition of their contributions.
