ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th May, 2026) Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar described “Marka-e-Haq” (the Battle for Truth) as a defining moment that highlighted major developments in Pakistan’s contemporary history.
While talking to APP, he highlighted the role of institutions in shaping the nation’s strong future.
“Marka-e-Haq is a proud moment for the nation, all civil institutions needs to play positive role within their domains in reshaping future of the country as developed country,” he said.
Focusing on education, he said we have to develop our education system in a way that help our students to boost research and development, resulted in stronger economy.
He lauded the role of civil and military leadership for their visionary approach during critical time that brought the enemy on their knees and earned widespread recognition internationally.
While answering the question, he said there are many major developments happened after Markh-e-Haq, including change of narrative of West towards Pakistan that pave the avenues of social development. Now, we need to grab these opportunities and attain new height of success.
He further said HEC has signed many MoUs and agreements for Education exchange programmes, with different countries that will definitely benefit the country.
“The world is rapidly moving toward digitalization, and we must equip our youth with modern skills and technologies, as this is essential for the country’s future progress,” he said.
He further stated that the youth of Pakistan are energetic, talented and passionate, advising them to adopt modern techniques, pursue innovation and play an active role in strengthening the country economically, socially and technologically.
