
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Abdul Kareem, on Friday paid rich tribute to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Lahore Data Darbar suicide attack, marking its seventh anniversary
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th May, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Abdul Kareem, on Friday paid rich tribute to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Lahore Data Darbar suicide attack, marking its seventh anniversary.
In his message, the IGP said, “We salute the great sons of the soil who laid down their lives in the line of duty and their families,” acknowledging the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by the fallen personnel.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, five personnel embraced martyrdom during the suicide attack on this day in 2019 while performing security duties at Data Darbar.
The martyrs included three head constables and two constables.
The martyred officials were identified as Head Constables Gulzar Ali, Shahid Nazir, Muhammad Sohail, and Constables Muhammad Saleem and Saddam Hussain, who attained the esteemed status of martyrdom in the line of duty.
IGP Abdul Kareem reiterated that Punjab Police would always remember the sacrifices of its martyrs and continue to take all necessary measures for the welfare and well-being of their families. He added that the sacrifices of martyrs serve as a beacon of guidance for the entire police force.
