QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5th May, 2026) Balochistan Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan on Monday said the provincial government has enrolled 281,000 children this year in educational institutions to improve education of the province as quality knowledge was key sources of the progress of any nation.
He said this while chairing a meeting of Deputy Commissioners here. The conference reviewed Balochistan Special Development Imitative (BSDI) development projects, admission campaign for out-of-school children, and improvement in the quality of life of the people.
As 70 percent of BSDI projects have been completed, while work on the rest is underway at a rapid pace said in briefing.
The Chief Secretary said that government officers should consider themselves servants of the people and give top priority to addressing public problems and serving them, the main duty of government officers was to create convenience for the people.
He said that officers should perform their duties honestly so that the problems of the people were solved in a timely manner, so that public confidence in the government remained strong.
The Chief Secretary also directed to ensure timely payment of funds for development projects.
He also instructed to further tighten the process of eradicating poppy cultivation in the province.
The Chief Secretary was briefed in the meeting that more than 95 percent of the land under poppy cultivation has been destroyed and the remaining would also be eliminated soon.
He said that food items should be available to the public at government rates at all times and strict monitoring to be done to prevent inflation, adding that immediate implementation of all complaints registered in open courts should be ensured.
