PSCA Introduces Gen Z Safety App With Full Privacy, Calls On Youth To Come Forward For Lodging Complaints

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd May, 2026) Incharge Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) Yusra Sohail, on Sunday, stressed awareness, saying that the newly launched PSCA Next Gen Safety App enables Gen Z users to lodge complaints with full privacy and ensures swift response to cases of harassment, social media blackmailing, and mental health support needs.

Speaking to a private media channel, she said under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched a secure safety app for Gen Z users aged between 20 and 25, which has so far received around 2,000 chat-based complaints and nearly 800 video call reports since its inauguration two months ago.

She said the platform is actively being used by young people, especially university students, to report issues related to harassment and cyber abuse.

She noted that a majority of complaints are being received from young women, particularly involving cases of blackmailing through leaked private data and online threats.

Yusra Sohail said the app has been designed to ensure full privacy and gender-sensitive protection so that victims can report incidents without fear or hesitation.

She said that many victims, especially girls, hesitate to report such issues due to social pressure, while others are unable to share their problems with families, adding that the platform provides them a safe and confidential space where they can seek immediate help.

She stressed that the initiative is not only about reporting complaints but also about timely response and support. She said that with just one click, users can access help in both emergency situations and cases where mental health support is required due to harassment or cyber stress.

She also added that FIA and other attached departments are on board 24 hours a day to ensure swift action and coordination, adding that the integrated system allows authorities to respond immediately to complaints, including harassment, and other cyber-related issues affecting youth.

She concluded that the objective of the initiative is to build trust among young citizens and ensure their safety in the digital space, adding that awareness is key so that more victims come forward instead of suffering in silence.
