LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st May, 2026) Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has said that the entire nation pays rich tribute to the working class and acknowledges their vital role and contribution to the country’s development and progress.
In his message issued in connection with Labour Day here on Friday, he stated, “By declaring the worker a friend of Allah Almighty, the significance and dignity of this day have been highlighted.”
He further noted that islam had laid down comprehensive principles regarding workers’ rights long before the emergence of modern international labour laws, stressing that their effective implementation remains the need of the hour.
The speaker further said that the present government was committed to improving the working and living conditions of labourers and that the welfare of workers and the protection of their rights were among its top priorities. He reaffirmed that the government would continue to take measures to safeguard the rights of the working class.
