RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Apr, 2026) A meeting of the Divisional Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Engineer Aamir Khattak to review proposed schemes for inclusion in the Annual Development Programme (ADP).
The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners, Additional Commissioner Coordination Zenia Humayun, Director Development Syed Nazarat Ali Shah, Director Local Government and heads of relevant departments.
Deputy commissioners presented detailed briefings on ongoing and proposed development and beautification schemes in their respective districts.
According to officials, a total of 79 schemes were proposed, including 43 from Rawalpindi, 20 from Chakwal, 15 from Murree and one from Attock.
The commissioner directed that basic public needs should be given top priority in all development schemes to ensure maximum direct benefit to citizens.
He emphasized that projects including improvement of sewerage systems, provision of clean drinking water, expansion of gas pipelines, construction and rehabilitation of roads and link roads, and beautification of bazaars and markets were crucial for public welfare.
Special instructions were issued to ensure priority completion of ongoing highway schemes in Chakwal.
Engineer Aamir Khattak also directed deputy commissioners to refine proposed schemes and identify additional projects that directly benefit citizens and accelerate development at the local level.
He stressed that transparency, quality and timely completion of projects must be ensured, adding that no negligence or delay would be tolerated.
The commissioner further directed line departments to enhance coordination, strengthen field monitoring and expedite the pace of development projects to meet targets within stipulated timelines.
He added that, in line with the vision of the Government of Punjab, public facilitation, sustainability and quality would remain top priorities in all development initiatives.
