PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Apr, 2026) The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has declared seven additional feeders as load-shedding free across different circles of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, further expanding uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers.
PESCO Chief Executive Officer Akhtar Hameed Khan said the initiative was being carried out on the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Federal Minister for Energy to provide maximum relief to electricity consumers and improve power supply across the province.
He said PESCO’s operation teams were actively conducting operations on high-loss feeders to reduce line losses and ensure better recovery, enabling more feeders to be shifted to the load-shedding free category.
According to details, load-shedding has been completely eliminated from Gulbahar and Sikandar Pura feeders in Peshawar Circle, while Muslimabad Mardan and Sheikh Maltoon feeders in Mardan Circle have also been made load-shedding free.
Similarly, in Swat Circle, Malakand Dargai and Thana feeders have been included in the load-shedding free network, while Town-1 Swabi feeder in Swabi Circle has also been exempted from scheduled power outages.
Akhtar Hameed Khan said that PESCO had already ended load-shedding on five feeders earlier, and with the addition of these seven feeders, the number of consumers receiving uninterrupted electricity had increased significantly.
He added that operations on other feeders were continuing and more feeders would soon be declared load-shedding free as part of the company’s strategy to improve service delivery and reduce public inconvenience.
