ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Sep, 2026) Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said providing relief to the public remains the government’s top priority, with all possible measures being taken to promote public welfare.
Speaking to a private news channel on Saturday, he said the government had introduced several measures during difficult economic circumstances, including targeted subsidies for underprivileged segments of society and the cancellation of official lunches and dinners as part of efforts to reduce expenditure.
He also highlighted reforms in government sectors aimed at improving financial efficiency, saying such measures would contribute to the country’s economic progress.
Responding to a question about political issues, Dr Fazal Chaudhry called for continued dialogue among political parties, describing it as a means of addressing differences through political engagement. He said marches and protests could further complicate existing challenges.
He said the government would not allow roads to be blocked or urban life and public services to be disrupted through violence, stressing that it was the state’s responsibility to protect citizens and ensure they could carry out their daily activities without unnecessary disruption.
