A female Canadian diplomat asked Aneeq Naji to recommend a book about Nawaz Sharif, to which the analyst replied that Sharif had never even come close to a book.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Sep, 2026) Political analyst Aneeq Naji strongly criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership, the Sharif family’s style of governance and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s political and administrative abilities, saying that knowledge, books and awareness have always been viewed with contempt in the Sharif family.
Speaking in his vlog, Aneeq Naji recounted meeting a female diplomat at the Canadian Embassy some time ago.
He said she asked him to recommend a book to help her learn about Nawaz Sharif. “I replied that Nawaz Sharif had never even come close to a book; he had neither written a book himself nor had anyone written one about him, because books and awareness are viewed with contempt throughout the Sharif family.”
Discussing the government’s media and political advisers, he said its members were always surrounded by flattering touts who told them around the clock that no leader was greater than them and that they were exceptional.
He said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz spoke against herself whenever she opened her mouth, and that her statements harmed her own position. As soon as slight political or administrative pressure emerged in Punjab, he said, the government became alarmed, began to panic, could not even obtain the papers and appeared completely flustered.
The political analyst expressed concern over growing public disillusionment in the country, saying that the rulers had no idea how much intense hatred had developed against them in the hearts of the people.
He said those holding real power would now have to think calmly about how much longer they intended to put the nation through this ordeal.
Aneeq Naji further said that when personal servants and employees were given major positions, a clear message was being sent to the capable, educated and respectable people in the cabinet that their status was no higher than that of those employees.
He asked how any person with self-respect could work in an environment where a personal servant received more protocol than elected ministers. He said all these wrong measures would lead to the same outcome that everyone would soon witness.
