Passenger Abdullah allegedly had a fake Saudi Arabia ticket; a case was registered and he was handed over to police.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Sep, 2026) A day after a citizen reached the departure lounge at Allama Iqbal International Airport without travel documents, another major security lapse emerged on Friday when a passenger reached the international departure lounge using a fake ticket.
Security personnel detained the passenger, who had entered the Lahore airport using a fake ticket.
Sources said the passenger, identified as Abdullah, allegedly reached the international departure lounge with the fake ticket. During checking, Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel became suspicious of the ticket and launched an investigation.
Sources said the passenger allegedly possessed a fake ticket for Saudi Arabia. The ASF detained him and handed him over to police for legal action. An application was submitted for registration of a case at Sarwar Road Police Station.
It is pertinent to mention that on 16th September, a passenger reached the departure lounge at Allama Iqbal International Airport without a ticket.
The suspect crossed various security stages and reached the departure briefing area without a ticket, passport or travel documents.
He was arrested and a case was registered.
According to airport police, the suspect wandered inside the airport lounge for quite some time, but security personnel did not promptly discover that he was there without a ticket.
Sources revealed that when the suspect was leaving after completing his “visit,” ASF personnel became suspicious. Checking revealed that he had no ticket for travel. The fact that the ticketless passenger crossed multiple security checkpoints and reached the international departure area raised serious questions about ASF security arrangements.
The ASF detained the suspect and handed him over to police, who initiated legal proceedings.
According to police, an identity card was also recovered from the suspect, identifying him as 35-year-old Ahmed Ali, son of Muhammad Shahbaz.
Police said Ahmed Ali is a resident of Pasrur tehsil in Sialkot district. A case was registered against him at Sarwar Road Police Station under Section 420 on behalf of the police on allegations of fraud.
Officials said an inquiry had also been launched into the police personnel and other relevant staff on duty at the time of the incident.
Action will be taken against any official or responsible person found negligent or at fault in the inquiry report.
