LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Sep, 2026) The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested three suspects in separate operations against cyber fraud and financial scams in Multan and Faisalabad,recovering mobile phones, bank cards and SIMs from their possession.
According to NCCIA spokesperson,the operations were conducted on special directions of Punjab NCCIA Director, Hassam Bin Iqbal as part of ongoing action against elements involved in cyber fraud and financial deception across the province.
NCCIA Multan arrested Shahryar from Lodhran.
The suspect allegedly defrauded a citizen of Rs.653,200 by promising to arrange a prize and donation.
He allegedly posed as a customs officer and used fake contacts related to a marriage to persuade the complainant to transfer the money.
A mobile phone was recovered from the suspect.
The spokesperson said the device contained a fake WhatsApp account,chats related to financial fraud and videos concerning deceptive practices used to conceal identities.
Meanwhile,NCCIA Faisalabad arrested two suspects,Sunil Amin and Usman Ali,allegedly involved in financial fraud through bank accounts.
The operation resulted in the recovery of 17 mobile phones,81 bank ATM cards and 195 SIM cards,spokesperson said.
The suspects allegedly used the identities of different individuals and representatives of public and private institutions to persuade citizens to transfer money.
Further investigation into the cases was underway.
