ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) Talks between the negotiating teams of the government and Jamaat-e-Islami have begun in the Federal capital, with the Jamaat-e-Islami team being briefed on the petroleum levy.
Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik is conducting the briefing along with his team.
The Jamaat-e-Islami negotiating team is receiving the briefing at the Petroleum Division.
The team is being led by Jamaat-e-Islami Deputy Emir Liaquat Baloch.
Its other members include Syed Farasat Shah, Nasrullah Randhawa, Inayatullah Khan, Ziauddin Ansari and Naveed Ali Baig.
Representatives of oil refineries and officials of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) are also present during the briefing.
Later, Power Division officials will brief the Jamaat-e-Islami team on the power sector and independent power producers (IPPs). Formal talks between the government and Jamaat-e-Islami will be held tomorrow, Wednesday.
