Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari described the conduct as “staged and cheap acting,” accusing the PTI social media cell and paid YouTubers of spreading propaganda about Sohail Afridi’s arrest.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Sep, 2026) Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari shared a video on social media showing Sohail Afridi sitting in a police vehicle, saying that the PTI social media cell and its paid YouTubers were spreading propaganda that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had been arrested in Lahore.
She said the propaganda was completely baseless.
In a statement accompanying the video, Uzma Bukhari said, “Witness another drama,” claiming that Sohail Afridi himself went and sat in the police van while police personnel were asking him to get out.
The provincial information minister said Sohail Afridi had also allegedly moved his guards back to prevent them from being recorded in the video.
In her post, Uzma Bukhari described Sohail Afridi’s conduct as “staged and cheap acting” and said he was being treated with respect, although, according to her, he did not deserve it.
She alleged that vehicles were being stopped at different locations, causing difficulties for the public, while addresses were being made to YouTubers and guards.
Sohail Afridi’s response to the video and Uzma Bukhari’s allegations was not immediately available.
It may be recalled that reports had earlier emerged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had himself sat in a police vehicle to secure the release of his workers. Sohail Afridi had told police that he would not get out of the vehicle until his workers were released.
