If the provincial issue remains unchanged, we will be Sikandar; if it changes, we will be Qalandar, says Special Assistant Huzaifa Rehman.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Sep, 2026) Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Huzaifa Rehman has commented in a witty manner on the country’s current political situation, relations with coalition partner Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s possible protest.
Speaking in this regard, Huzaifa Rehman said that every moment in politics does not remain the same.
“Sometimes we are Sikandar, sometimes Qalandar, and sometimes inside.
At present, the PPP is upset, so we are Qalandar,” he said.
Discussing the sensitive issue concerning the provinces, he explained that if the provincial issue remained unchanged, they would consider themselves Sikandar; if the situation changed, they would be Qalandar, and if circumstances worsened excessively, he said sarcastically, “We will all be inside!” He also clarified that the PPP is their coalition partner, that it has the right to be upset, and that it is the government’s duty to persuade it repeatedly.
Meanwhile, regarding PTI’s expected protest and call for a long march on 27 September, Huzaifa Rehman claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would call it off itself before putting the protest into practice.
