In the police firing case, Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked, “Don’t these people fear Allah? What do half-fry and full-fry mean?”
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) The Supreme Court of Pakistan has granted bail to Irshad, an accused in a case involving firing at police personnel. The case was heard by Justice Jamal Mandokhail.
During the hearing, the accused’s lawyer, Mutiullah, argued that the case had been registered after his client’s arrest.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked that the accused was fortunate that the bullet fired by his accomplice had struck only the leg and that the accused had not been killed by his accomplice’s firing.
The state prosecutor told the court that more than 16 cases had previously been registered against the accused.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail said it would then be better for the accused to remain in jail, adding that he might come out and be killed by firing from his accomplices.
In response to the judge’s remarks, the accused’s lawyer, Mutiullah, said that his client had been “half-fried,” not “full-fried.” The judge asked, “Don’t these people fear Allah? What do half-fry and full-fry mean?” The lawyer told the court that in a half-fry, a person is shot in the leg, while in a full-fry, the person is killed.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked that if the lawyer insisted, bail would be granted; otherwise, the accused was safe in jail, where he was being protected at government expense.
On the lawyer’s request, the court granted bail to the accused.
Irshad had been arrested in Rawalpindi on allegations of firing at police.
