Houthi Attacks On Saudi Arabia: Telephone Contact Between Iranian Foreign Minister And Pakistan Army Chief


They discussed ways to ease tensions in the region and agreed on the need to enhance communication and cooperation among regional countries.

TEHRAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, held a telephone conversation during which they discussed Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, the latest regional situation, rising tensions and threats to regional security.

According to Reuters, Pakistani security officials said the two leaders also discussed ways to reduce the ongoing conflict between Tehran and the United States and revive diplomatic efforts.

Both sides exchanged views on the ongoing tensions and growing insecurity in the region.

During the call, they also reviewed the impact of escalating tensions on regional peace and stability.

The two sides stressed the need for regional countries to remain vigilant and increase communication and cooperation in view of the current situation.

They also called for joint capabilities and resources to be utilized to establish lasting peace and security in the region.

No further details regarding the telephone conversation were immediately released.

It may be recalled that Pakistan, along with Qatar, has continued to play an important mediating role in efforts to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States and facilitate diplomatic contacts.
