Rulers who will not cut a penny from their luxuries are a calamity for the people, says the former federal minister in an X post.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Federal minister Moonis Elahi has strongly criticized the government over repeated increases in petrol and diesel prices, calling the incumbent rulers a calamity for the people.
According to details, reacting to the heavy taxes and levies imposed on petroleum products and the recent increase, Moonis Elahi wrote in a strongly worded statement on social media platform X that the patwaris had dropped another deadly petrol bomb on the people, as a result of which prices had caught fire across the country.
The PTI leader mocked the government, writing that these “47-number rulers,” who had come to power through Form 47, had now descended as a calamity on the poor and oppressed people.
