The Makkah region is expected to receive moderate to heavy rain, with hail likely in Taif and several other areas.
RIYADH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in several parts of the Kingdom from Wednesday through the following Monday.
According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Meteorology forecast moderate to heavy rain in the Makkah region. Taif, Maysan, Adham and Al-Arsiyyat are expected to be affected by flooding, hail and strong dusty winds, while light to moderate rain is likely in Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Bahrah, Al-Lith and Al-Qunfudhah.
The report said areas of Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha would receive moderate to heavy rain, with possible flooding, hail and dust storms. The Madinah and Najran regions are also expected to experience light to moderate rain.
In its statement, the directorate advised citizens to take precautionary measures and remain in safe places. It urged people to stay away from flood-prone areas, valleys and low-lying locations, and to avoid swimming in places where rainwater has accumulated.
