A citizen recorded a video of an Islamabad police officer allegedly demanding a bribe, and it went viral.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) A video of an Islamabad police officer allegedly demanding a bribe has gone viral, showing the official openly negotiating money with a citizen instead of enforcing the law.
According to details, a mobile phone video rapidly circulating on social media shows an Islamabad Police officer wearing a blue shirt and a scarf around his neck stopping a car on the road.
Instead of taking legal action, the officer leaned toward the vehicle’s window and began demanding a bribe.
In the video, the officer can be heard bargaining with the citizen in a seemingly friendly and “sympathetic” manner, saying, “Feed me some food—just give me three or four thousand, not more—you are like a brother.
Otherwise, the fine is four thousand rupees, but give me three thousand; nothing will happen.
”
The video clearly shows the police officer returning the driver’s documents after checking them.
While calling the citizen “brother” and offering him a discount, the officer simultaneously insists on receiving money. However, the car driver cleverly recorded the entire conversation and the demand for payment on his mobile phone. The video has now gone viral across major social media platforms.
