RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Sep, 2026) Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has instituted zero-tolerance measures against examination malpractices and the “booti mafia” while establishing rigorous monitoring protocols across all evaluation centers, Chairman Professor Dr. Iqbal Mahmood said on Monday.
Speaking to APP in an exclusive interaction, Dr. Iqbal Mahmood stated that continuous administrative vigilance and daily operational reviews are being conducted to ensure transparent, merit-based answer sheet assessments across all board examinations.
He maintained that board’s main domain is to conduct the exam and make fair assessment of the students following marking policy.
To a question, the chairman highlighted that the results of annual exams show the trends of success rate, which, he thinks the reflection of teaching methodology and approach.
He went on saying that any education board is primarily responsible to give factual assessment of students through well conducted examination process, marking and results compiling.
The board has made every possible effort to ensure that no student is unfairly treated during the evaluation process, and that marks are awarded strictly according to what they have written in their answer sheets”, the chairman while elaborating marking standard during recently held SSC and HSSC level exams.
He said that under the intensified strategy, special monitoring committees and surveillance squads are conducting random inspections at marking centers to prevent standard irregularities and eliminate illicit assistance networks.
The Chairman emphasized that strict legal and administrative action will be taken against individuals involved in unfair means cases (UMCs), underscoring the board’s commitment to protecting student merit and upholding academic integrity.
To another question regarding IBCC’s policy to allow students to study science subjects in HSSC with passing SSC in arts subjects, the chairman said no such policy has been adopted by the board as yet.
“We have to follow Punjab Boards Chairmen Committee (PBCC) instructions, however no such instructions (regarding IBCC decision) have been passed on to us”, he said.
