FAISALABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh said that honouring talented students of Divisional Model College (DMC) with awards on Defence Day carries a powerful message that the nation which demonstrated its resilience and indomitable spirit on September 6, 1965 is equally confident today that its future remains in capable and secure hands.
Addressing a Defence Day ceremony at Divisional Model College, he said that Pakistan had remained fully conscious of its responsibilities towards the future.
As long as educational institutions continued producing capable, talented and dedicated students, the national flag would continue to fly high among the comity of nations, he added.
He described DMC as not merely an ordinary educational institution but a distinguished center of learning and said that its students had the potential to play a meaningful role in shaping future of the country.
Addressing the award-winning students, Divisional Commissioner said that the awards represented recognition of their past performance, but the real message for them was to maintain the same level of hard work, dedication, passion and focus in the future.
He said that the awards had been conferred purely on merit. He urged the students to make hard work a permanent principle of their lives and continue striving for excellence so that success and recognition would become a lifelong achievement.
He also encouraged the students not to be discouraged by the negative perception that nothing could be achieved without recommendation or money.
He expressed confidence that they would witness merit at every important stage of their journey from university admissions and academic results to their practical professional lives.
He congratulated the college administration and organizers for arranging an impressive Defense Day ceremony and appreciated their efforts to inculcate patriotism, discipline and a spirit of excellence among the students.
The ceremony also featured vibrant national songs presented by the students while a martial arts demonstration added an element of discipline, physical fitness and confidence to the proceedings.
