HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) Muhammad Saleem Memon, the president of Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry has said that fluctuations in the prices of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) could increase miseries for small traders, industrialists, transporters and the general public to run their business and manage household budgets.
He emphasized the government to introduce an effective and balanced mechanism that takes into account international market conditions without throwing the full impact of fluctuations to consumers and the business community.
He said that industrialists are finding it increasingly difficult to accurately calculate their production costs, while transporters are also facing uncertainty to ascertain freight and transportation charges.
President HCSTSI Saleem Memon said that the situation of small traders and small industries is considerably different from that of large corporations.
He urged the government to establish an effective Price Stabilization Mechanism for petroleum products and provide special relief to small industries and SMEs.
He also called for meaningful consultation with representatives of the business community while determining the mechanism for petroleum price adjustments.
