He issued the directives while presiding over a meeting at Police Headquarters Rawalpindi attended by SSPs, SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, police station clerks and other senior officers. In-charges of the Adiala Jail lock-up guard, tehsil and district courts, and the Bakshikhana facilities at the tehsil and district courts also attended the meeting.

Sukhera said field staff were being provided with all necessary technical and logistical support to prevent crime and curb criminal elements.

Reviewing the police’s efforts against narcotics, the CPO said Rawalpindi Police had shown improved performance in combating drugs, adding that a major crackdown was being launched to eliminate the menace.

He directed officers to conduct coordinated crackdowns against kite sellers, kite flying and individuals involved in aerial firing.
