ABBOTTABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 2nd Sep, 2026) The government wheat quotas of seven flour mills in Abbottabad have been suspended for violating standard operating procedures (SOPs) governing the production and distribution of subsidized flour, here on Wednesday.
District food Controller Abbottabad Uzma Shah conducted surprise inspections of flour mills on Wednesday to monitor the quality and transparent distribution of flour produced from government-supplied wheat.
During the inspections, seven mills were found violating the prescribed SOPs, prompting suspension of their government wheat quotas.
Uzma Shah said no negligence would be tolerated regarding the quality, weight or supply of subsidized flour at the officially fixed price. She said legal action would be taken against mills found violating the rules.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is supplying wheat from its strategic reserves to operational flour mills to ensure the availability of affordable and quality flour to consumers.
The price of a 20-kilogram bag of subsidized flour has been fixed at Rs2,520 across Hazara Division, including Abbottabad.
